Clay's so gay, but it's okay!
America's very liberal view of homosexuality and even same-sex marriages is a testament to Modern Protestantism, which was why when AMERICAN IDOL 2 runner-up Clay Aiken came out of that stinky old closet last month to announce to the whole wide world that he's gay (i.e. homo and happy) no one batted an eyelid.
What's your take on all this?
There's a Chinese saying '男 人 不 坏, 女 人 不 爱' that basically means if a man is not without flaws, then a woman is not likely to be attracted to him. Interesting notion, if you think about it. Here we are, championing chivalry and decency in people – particularly men; on the other hand, we find ourselves in a paradoxical situation where apparently morality is a non-virtue that'll get you nowhere into the good books of hypocritical women.
But ladies, ladies…do you honestly prefer a chow buaya sniffing up your skirt than a goody goat carrying a torch (or your branded handbag) for you? Hmm?
