40 Winks

Thanks to the shutterbuggish Jimmy Chia and his Reuteristic (or is that voyeuristic?) photo, this full-time English Language student from China is caught sleeping on the lecturer's desk during her class break. Talk about getting busted.
(If you look closely or click to enlarge the image, you'll see that her eyes are actually open. Scary!)

Dinner @ Seoul Garden

'Pak tor-ed' for six hours with our DMT student Hasnita Harshin (and caught THE SPIDERWICK CHRONICLES at The Grand Cathay), our Good Friday culminating in a sumptuous dinner at Seoul Garden.
It was my first visit to this "authentic Korean-styled BBQ restaurant" in almost seven years and some things never changed - the ambience, the aroma of food, the astronomical tab. I'm kidding about the last one. After all, what's a paltry $59.95 compared to the prodigious $570.00 coughed up by our Marketing Manager Steven Kho when he treated us all to dinner at Tung Lok two weeks ago?

Pride & Prejudice

Who would imagine that a laptop computer could spark so much controversy and resentment? What started as a 'routine' crime soon escalated uncontrollably into the stuff of movies - (purported) conspiracy, cover-up, sacrificial lambs, and a general miscarriage of justice.
But what lies beneath is the greater issue of blatant racism and colonial mentality. It's, indeed, sad and stupid that in this day and age we still see skin color prejudice undermine the progress we've made all these decades with equality and meritocracy. Enough said.
