Who would imagine that a laptop computer could spark so much controversy and resentment? What started as a 'routine' crime soon escalated uncontrollably into the stuff of movies - (purported) conspiracy, cover-up, sacrificial lambs, and a general miscarriage of justice.But what lies beneath is the greater issue of blatant racism and colonial mentality. It's, indeed, sad and stupid that in this day and age we still see skin color prejudice undermine the progress we've made all these decades with equality and meritocracy. Enough said.
